Senior Cadets 2 Star Kayaking Course on 30 Mar, 6 and 13 Apr 2013

Good Day Senior Cadets,

The 2 Star Kayaking Course will take place over 3 Saturdays commencing on 30 March 2013.

I/Cs for the 3 sessions as follows:

I/C for Session 1: LCP ALOYSIUS CHAN
I/C for Session 2: LCP WAYNE CHAN
I/C for Session 3: LCP ANG JIAN HAO

The packing list as follows:


Packing List: 
  1. 2 x $3 = $6 (Lunch for 1st 2 sessions - 30 Mar & 6 Apr) - catered packeted meals
  2. Packed Lunch (Preferably bread or rice items that can be kept for a few hours without turning soggy. Avoid noodles. Buy at your own risk) - 13 Apr
  3. Sun Block Lotion
  4. Cap
  5. Spectacles band (for those wearing glasses)
  6. Gloves (not a necessity)
  7. Sunglasses (not a necessity)
  8. Booties (if not, minimum sandals or old pair of shoes that you don’t want, no slippers please!)
  9. Long sleeve shirt / or singlets if you want more sun-burn marks on your body (preferably light coloured, as darker clothes tend to absorb more heat)
  10. Water bottle
  11. Shower Equipments (soap, towel, shampoo, etc)
  12. Fresh change of clothing
Reporting Time: 9.30am 
Location: PA Water Venture (Pasir Ris)

How to get there:


There is only one bus service serving that area, bus service 403 from Pasir Ris Interchange (located at the same place as Pasir Ris MRT)
          
Alight when the bus do a round-about turn, as shown. Alight at the bus stop. The PA Water Venture is just a 2-3 min walk from the bus stop.

Please note that the bus only runs once every 20 min, so please take that into consideration, and arrive early at the bus interchange so that you can be at PA Water venture on time.

My recommendation is be at Pasir Ris Bus Interchange between 8.30 to 8.45am to be safe.

Results of the Sea Competition Dragon Boat Selections

Good Day Cadets,

After the Dragon Boat Selections conducted by the Senior Cadet Leaders, listed below are the cadets who have been selected to represent our unit in the Sea Competition (Dragon Boat):

PTI: CPL IGNATIUS YIP (Gym Training)

CPL HIA REON will assist with the Land Physical Training of the dragon boaters.

Land Training will commence on 3 April 2013 (Wed).

Sea Training will commence on 12 April 2013 (Wed).

The target set for this year's Dragon Boat Competition is to get overall Top 3 during the Rowing Heats so that we can compete in the Rowing Finals.

Let's work together to realise this dream of our Team Barracudas!

For cadets, who did not get selected to represent the team for the Dragon Boat Competition, there are still other opportunities such as the Kayaking Competition, Bends & Hitches Competition and Shooting Competition. Start gearing yourself up for this competition selections.

The 2nd and final selections before MKE will be on Sat 6 April 2013 from 0715 to 12 noon (or end of expedition depending on inclement weather). I will brief you on the details of next week Sat during next NCC School Training (Wed, 3 April 2013). Please read the information below from CPT CHIA.


INFORMATION FROM SEA DISTRICT COMMANDER: CPT CHIA KOK LEONG


For Cadets in the morning (AM session) :
1) All cadets are to report at Sembawang Sea Training Centre (SSTC) at 0715hrs sharp for registration in their PT attire (long sleeve school/NCC shirt is advisable). Please DO NOT report late. One teacher officer is required to accompany each unit. 

2) This morning session is conducted for your cadets and the expedition will start from SSTC to Causeway and back. If the weather holds fine, everything should end before 1200hrs and they will be dismissed from SSTC. Should there be inclement weather in the morning, the expedition will start at a later time. As such, please remind your cadets to make this whole saturday available for themselves till evening time after 1730hrs. Please prepare the necessary consent forms to inform their parents. 

3) No transport will be provided for the cadets to and from SSTC. As such, you may wish to arrange transport from school or otherwise. No lunch will be catered as well. They will be dismissed before 1200hrs after the expedition.

4) Please remind the cadets to consume a full breakfast before they report to SSTC - this is important so that they will have enough strength to go through the expedition. Also advise them to have at least 7 hours of sleep the night before.

NCC FSD Competition Grand Finals

Good Day Cadets,

Since the response for meeting at school to take the transport is poor, there will be no transport from school to HQ NCC.

All cadets are to meet CPL EDWARD SAY at 9.30am at Yio Chu Kang MRT Passenger Service or meet MDM WONG at 10am at the entrance of Amoy Quee Camp.

Attire is Barracudas T-shirt with jeans or casual pants (long).

NCC FSD Competition Grand Finals

Good Day Cadets,

I'm pleased to inform you that our Barracudas FSD team emerged Champions at the District level at the recent FSD Competition (Prelim Round) on 9 March 2013 (Sat).

Our FSD team will be participating in the Grand Finals competing against 19 other FSD teams from the various districts this Saturday, 23 March 2013.

I would like to appeal to all cadets to join us in cheering the Marist team on.


The details are as follows:

Activity: NCC FSD Grand Finals
Date: 23 March 2013 (Sat)
Time: 10am - 12pm
Attire: Barracudas T-shirt with Jeans or Casual Pants (Long)
Reporting Time: 9.30am (The bus will depart at 9.45am)


Alternatively, you can choose to meet us directly at the entrance of Amoy Quee Camp at 10am.

To facilitate in the booking of the bus, I will need to know the number of cadets who will be coming down on Saturday.

Please take note the your Camp STEEL will take place from 11-12 Mar 2013 (Mon - Tue).
