Upcoming events

To all parts note that this coming friday there is training (12/09/2008)
this training includes PT and proficiency test training. Attire is PT kit(details will be announced)

Please also keep 17-18 OCT free as these are the dates for the Annual Unit Camp.

To all part Cs those who either went for Sea Spec course or Land Spec course or both will have to go for drill mutual on wed (10/09/2008) and Fri(12/09/2008) at the company command post. only those who did not go for any of these courses need not go. Those who are not involved in the drill mutual will have to attend Fri(12/09/2008) training.

After this Fri training there will be no more NCC activities until after SA2.

The Camp Feast for Part A cadets will be held at HQ(NCC) Amoy Quee Camp.

Duration: 2 days 1 night, 16/7/08 (Wednesday) to 17/7/08 (Thursday).
Reporting date: 16 July 2008.
Reporting time: 0710.
Venue: Front porch.
Attire: No.4 with head dress.

Transport will be provided to HQ and note that the bus leaves at 0720 sharp, be punctual.

Sea Training on 2nd July

Time: Cadets are allowed to be excused from their classes from 1pm onwards. Everyone is to fall-in at the front porch by 1320.

It is compulsory to have your lunch in school before going.

Things to bring:
  • PT kit
  • Booties or a pair of old sport shoes. Sandals and slippers are NOT allowed to be worn into the sea.
  • Eye wear retainers.
  • Water bottle.
  • Sunblock lotion.
  • A dry set of clothing to be worn home (school uniform).
  • Showering necessities. E.g. towel, shampoo etc.

There will be transport to Sembawang Sea Training Centre. However, the will be no transport back to school. Cadets are to find their own way home. We will bring those who want to go home by public transport back to the Sembawang MRT station so that you can make their way home from there.

As for your Macbooks and other electronic devices, you can leave them in your school lockers (preferred choice) or bring them along with your bags to the training centre, where they will be watched over by someone.

30th June. Monday - Only Part As and Part Cs are required to attend.
  • For Part As, wear your PT kit. Part Cs wear their blue barracudas with no.3 pants, beret and shoes.

1st July. Tuesday - Kit exchange for the whole company.

  • Those who are SURE that they have no problems with their uniform and do not need to exchange anything are not required to come.
2nd July. Wednesday - Sea training.

3rd July. Thursday -Full dress rehearsal (this means bring your full no.3). All parts are to attend.

4th July. Friday - NCC Day. Bring full no.3.

The Camp Feast for Part B cadets will be held at HQ(NCC) Amoy Quee Camp.

Duration: 2 days 1 night.
Reporting date: 30th June 2008.
Reporting time: 0710 hours.
Venue: Front porch.
Attire: No.4.

Transport will be provided to HQ and note that the bus leaves at 0720 sharp, be punctual.

All cadets who apply for the Basic Diving course must have the following pre-requisites:
a. Must obtain parental/guardian’s consent and recommended by unit/school.
b. Must be 3SG and above.
c. Must be medically fit.
d. Must have a height not less than 1.60m.
e. Must have weight not less than 55 kg.
f. Must have good eyesight of 6/6 to 6/24.
g. Must have education level of at least Sec 3.
h. Attained at least Silver award in NAPFA (validity 2 months from date of 1st swimming test)

Introduction:The Dimension of leadership Programme in conducted by Outward Bound Course(Singapore) for selected Part C cadets (Boys and Girls) as part of the adventurous training provided to the cadets.It is also part of the incentive programme to reward deserving cadets,who have been outstanding in training.
The facilitators and trainers at OBS would expose cadets to confidence and adventure training in the new environment and terrain in the natural surroundings at Pulau Ubin (Quoted)

Reminder

If there is an absolute need to bring any of the above items, it MUST be declared and surrendered at the security checks. Your items will be returned to you when you leave the Campus.

Sea Specialist Course Briefing(UPDATED)(NEW)

This Notice is for all those Part C's who were selected for NCC Sea Specialist Course.

There is a COMPULSORY briefing on the 28th February, 2008,(Thursday),
1500 Hrs(3.00 pm) at NCC theatre, Amoy Quee Camp.

Failure to attend the briefing WILL result in the cadets who DID NOT attend NOT being allowed to attend the course. The final list of Cadets who are attending will also be released during the briefing itself. \

34th Annual Kayaking Expedition 2008


INTRODUCTION

This Post is meant for The PART C's Only

ADMINISTRATIVE INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTRATION OF PARTICIPANTS FOR NCC (SEA) 34TH ANNUAL KAYAKING EXPEDITION 2008)

[HQ NCC (Sea) will be conducting the 34th Annual Kayaking Expedition 2008 (AKE 2008) from 9 June to 12 June 2008.

Application is now open to all Part C NCC (Sea) cadets and selected NCC (Land) and NCC (Air) cadets.

All application forms and nominal roll must reach HQ NCC (Sea) by 1 Feb 2008 (Friday).

IMPORTANT

Participants are required to attend all trainings once their names are registered on the nominal roll. The rations for participants are indented for these trainings. As such, any registered participants who do not attend training would be required to pay for the ration not consumed.


The participants would be required to have a proper haircut and correct hair colour for training, otherwise, they would not be allowed for the training.

Participants must adhere to all regulations for training safety, to be equipped with the proper attire and bring the required items for training. A list of items for participants to bring is given in Annex C. Those participants who fail to comply will not be allowed to continue the training.


CRITERIA
In view of the safety requirements for sea expedition, all participants must meet the following criteria:


a. No medical history


b. Maximum weight limit of 80 kg


c. NAPFA Bronze or better


d. Attain 1 Star Kayaking Award or better


e. Attain National Survival Swimming Award (NASSA) – Bronze, or Learn-to-Swim Programme LTSP –Intermediate, or other swimming awards (able to swim 50 metres in a recognised stroke).
Note: 2 STAR Kayaking Award holders may be exempted from Criteria (e).


SELECTION


All participants are required to complete 2 preparatory trainings and the mini-expedition.
For the actual AKE, a total of 120 cadets comprising 100 Sea cadets and 20 Land/Air cadets would be selected.


Absentees (without valid reasons/medical certification) and late comers (after 0900) for training will be deemed to have withdrawn from the AKE 2008. Appeals for re-entry to AKE 2008 trainings will not be entertained.


AWARD OF CERTIFICATES AND BADGES
The participants who attend 2 preparatory trainings, the mini-expedition and AKE will be given certificates and badges (Silver type for Mini Expedition and Gold type for AKE) upon successful completion for their achievements.


The names given on the nominal rolls need to be accurate as it will be used to prepare the certificates.


SCHEDULE FOR TRAININGS
The trainings for AKE 2008 include preparatory trainings, a mini-expedition and conclude with the AKE.
Preparatory Trainings are held at Sembawang Sea Training Centre on Saturdays, starting at 0800hrs and ending at 1700hrs. Details will be given later.

MINI-EXPEDITIONS


The execution for Mini-Expedition will be done in 2 phases by Groups A to B with 120 participants in each group.


The Groups A will report on 18 April at 1800 and will be dismissed on 19 April at 2000 hr.

While Groups B will report on 19 April at 1800 and will be dismissed on 20 April at 2000 hr.

The overnight rest area will be provided at Sembawang Camp.


AKE 2008


The duration of AKE 2008 will be over 3 days and 2 nights with 120 participants in one group.

The selected participants will report on 9 June at 1500hr and will be dismissed on 12 June by 1800 hr. The venue for reporting and dismissal is Sembawang Sea Training Centre at SAF Yacht Club.]

MSTD 1/2008

This post is meant for Part C's only.

The first Midshipman Sea Training Deployment(MSTD) for 2008 is coming up.
There are 2 possible Dates for this MSTD,from the 9th to the 17th February (Singapore to Jakarta) or from the 8th to the 18th March (Bangkok to Singapore).

Those Part C cadets that are interested in taking part, the interview will most likely be scheduled on the 11th of January at 16oo hrs and the medical check- up for the trip will be on 23rd and 24th of January, 14oo hrs, at the Central Manpower Base(CMPB).

The Deadline for submission is on the 4th of January.
